Strimming and brush cutting in Larkfield for long grass, nettles, brambles, banks and rough corners a mower cannot handle. We cut it back to a level you can keep on top of and take the cuttings away. Free quotes.
Mowers need flat ground and grass short enough to feed in. Banks, ditches, tree bases, fence lines and anything over knee height need a strimmer or a brush cutter. It is also the tool for the awkward strip along a wall that a mower can never quite reach.
More Information
A brush cutter uses a blade rather than a line, so it goes through bramble and woody stems that would stop a strimmer dead. Rough ground is usually cut twice, once high to take the bulk off and once lower to leave an even finish.
Long grass hides bricks, wire, glass and low stumps, and a blade hitting any of them throws debris a long way. We walk the area first and lift out what we find. Cars and windows nearby get sheeted where there is any risk.
Strimming is often the first job on a plot that has been left, before anything else can happen. We take on paddock corners, side alleys, banks and whole gardens gone to seed around Larkfield, and we would rather cut it properly once than nibble at it for weeks.

STILL NOT SURE?
Yes. A year of growth is a normal strimming job for us. We cut it back in stages, high pass first then lower, and clear the cuttings as we go. If there is bramble or woody growth in there, the brush cutter handles it in the same visit.
Yes, unless you ask us to leave them. Cut material from long grass is bulky and will kill the grass beneath if it sits, so we rake it up and take it away. On rough ground away from the lawn, leaving it to break down is sometimes the better option.
Low enough to run a mower over afterwards, usually a few centimetres. We do not cut into the soil, as scalping bare earth invites weeds straight in. Once it is down to that level a normal mowing routine keeps it there.
